In response to a comment on my last post, here are a few resources regarding telling. These are for hetero couples but I saw several books for lesbian couples.
DCN (Donor Conception Network) Telling & Talking Series (free)
- My Story: For Children Conceived by Donor Insemination (DCN - scroll down to the bottom)
- Before You Were Born: Our Wish for a Baby (Amazon)
- Hope & Will Have a Baby: The Gift of Sperm Donation (Amazon)
- Let Me Explain: A Story About Donor Insemination (Amazon)
Full disclosure -- I have only read the free DCN items. None of the other books really struck me. That's why I'm trying to write my own.
If any of you have read these, what did you think? Do you have any others to add to the list?
I found your blog through Mel's blog. And I want to thank you for sharing this with us. We are starting to look into DI and your "Who's Your Daddy?" post made me bawl - and calmed me down. Thank you!

Hi there,
My name is Alison Wheatley and I am a final year sociology student at Warwick University in the UK. I am just beginning a research project on the experiences of people invested in donor insemination, and I was wondering if you would be willing to engage in some email interviews with me? If not, would you agree to me using some of discussions in your blog as part of my project?
You can contact me at A.L.Wheatley@warwick.ac.uk if you are able to help or would like some more information; by the same token, any blog readers who feel they could help are also welcome to contact me.
Thanks for your time.
